Lil Leona, went on her next adventure, the farm. A little boy in need of help
She could hear the mooing. She stepped on her vestile and arrived on top of the barn.
“Who are you?” asked a black and white spotted cow.
“I’m Lil Leona. Do you know where Johnny is?”
The cow responded. “Oh you mean the little boy who can’t find Helen, the hen?”
Lil Leona, responded, “Exactly!”
“That silly boy is out on the pasture behind the barn!” said the cow.
Lil Leona hurried off to find Johnny! She had to fly hard and fast to catch up with Johnny, who was trying but failing to catch Helen, the Hen!
Once, she caught up, she yelled, “Excuse me! Johnny, do you need any help?”
Johnny was startled by the tiny voice, and slowly turned around. “Are you a fairy?” Johnny asked incredulously.
“Why, yes!” Lil Leona exclaimed. “I am Lil Leona, my friends call me Leona. A little fairy set me to help you!”
“I don’t need help!” Johnny said, as he reached down to grab Helen, only to have Helen, the Hen escape from his grasps.
“Looks like you need some help to me!” Said Lil Leona.
Helen, the hen chimed in. “He sure does need help! He thinks I should be in my coop all day! I want to run free!”
“Hmm,” said Lil Leona. Your chicken is telling me, she just wants some free time to roam around outside.”
“You can understand the animals?” asked Johnny incredulously.
“Yes! I AM A FAIRY.” Said Lil Leona.
“Can you understand ALL the animals on the farm?” asked Johnny.
“Why, yes!” Lil Leona exclaimed.
“Now first, let’s solve Helen, the Hen’s problems, then we can talk to the other animals.” Said Lil Leona.
“Ok!” said Johnny.
“Your hen, Helen would like to roam outside for part of the day. Do you think you can help her with that? Asked Lil Leona.
“Yes! I think so! We can create a chicken fence in area for hen to roam.” Said Johnny.
“Sounds like a plan!” said Lil Leona. “Now what other animals do you want to speak with?”
“Paige, the Pig!” exclaimed Johnny.
They walked over to Paige, the Pig. Paige was busy rolling in the dirt and exclaiming. “Oink! Oink!”
Johnny let out a frustrated sigh. I keep cleaning Paige, but as soon as I do that, she rolls in the mud again! How do I get her to stop?”
“Hmph.” Paige, the pig snorted! “The mud helps me to stay cool on hot days like today!”
Lil Leona translated the message to Johnny.
“Oh.” Johnny said. “I didn’t know that! Now I know why she goes back to the mud once I clean off the mud!”
“Ok, I have so many questions! Let’s go see the ducks next!”
Here are the ducks! I don’t get it! These ducks look like they are always staring at me! Why is that?”
“Silly Boy!” We ducks can see almost everything! We can see near, and far, and over that Johnny’s shirt has red checkers.”
Once Lil Leona translated, Johnny was in shock! “They really can see me all the time. And they can see color! Cool.”
“Ok. One more question!” Lil Leona flew after Johnny while he ran to the Goat area. “This goat over here keeps nibbling on my clothes! Clothes aren’t food!”
George, the Goat spoke up. “We like to try anything. We like grass and sometimes, something may not XXXXXXXXXX to Johnny, but it could be yummy to me. Johnny brings treats sometimes, so we are always willing to see if something else is edible.”
“Oh! I get it! Goats are curious! Just like me! That means I need to bring them more food!”
It was getting late in the afternoon. Lil Leona looked at the sun, and realized she needed to get home before supper.
“Johnny, it was so much fun visiting you! But, I have to go now!”
“But will I see you again?” asked Johnny.
“I hope so!” Lil Leona responded. She waved her wand, and a gold coin appeared! “Here’s something to remind you of my visit.”
“Thank you! Lil Leona.”
“Bye now!” and with a flick of her wand, Lil Leona disappeared back to her home.
It was a busy day on the farm. Johnny was able to talk and learn more about how to care for the animals, and Lil Leona loved meeting all of Johnny’s farm friends.
As she lay down to rest, she knew that tomorrow would bring a new adventure!
